2025 - 2027
The project is implemented by the National Center for Culture and Arts of King Hussein Foundation, in partnership with the Vocational Training Corporation, the Advanced Vocational Training College in Jordan, and the Ministry of Education, with the support of Drosos Foundation.
Overall Objective
The primary objective of the project is to transform societal perceptions and dismantle prevailing stereotypes surrounding Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and vocational occupations in Jordan. It seeks to position vocational education as a viable, rewarding, and motivating career pathway; reduce cultural barriers that limit the participation of young men and women in vocational training and increase public understanding of the economic benefits associated with skilled professions.
Furthermore, the project aims to strengthen life skills and workplace ethics training programs through the integration of drama and interactive theatre techniques, thereby enhancing the employability of graduates. The project will adopt a participatory approach, engaging both the TVET sector and key private-sector stakeholders.
Project Activities
- Development of a Life Skills and Workplace Ethics Manual – Accompanied by Interactive Drama and Theatre Activities
This training supplement is designed to strengthen essential competencies that empower trainees and prepare them for the labour market with efficiency and confidence. It emphasizes experiential learning, employing creative drama and Interactive Theatre Based techniques (TBT) as a core methodology. Interactive activities such as role-playing and improvisation will be utilized to foster deeper conceptual understanding and enrich the learning experience.
The manual complements the Life Skills and Workplace Ethics manual developed by the Vocational Training Corporation, which encompasses the following modules: Communication; Self-Awareness and Social Intelligence; Time Management; Teamwork; Problem-Solving in the Workplace; Workplace Ethics; Self-Assessment and Self-Marketing. It also incorporates the Fikra program developed by The College of Advanced Vocational Training in Jordan.
