The National Center for Culture and Arts, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and with support from the Swiss-based Drosos Foundation, organized the "Drama and Creativity in Education" conference at the Royal Cultural Center's conference hall. This conference serves as the culmination of the "Creativity in the Classroom" project, which has been ongoing for four years since its launch in 2019. The project targeted 300 teachers from 32 public schools across four governorates, providing them with training on the use of drama and theatrical techniques as a tool to enhance the educational process.
The conference focused on the importance of integrating drama into the educational process as an effective tool for developing students' learning and innovation skills. Through the presentations made by the speakers, discussions centered on how drama can contribute to the development of critical thinking and the positive engagement with the challenges of the 21st century. Additionally, the role of creative industries in social and economic development and the importance of supporting talents in the fields of arts and culture were highlighted.
The impact of this conference is evident in enhancing the integration between traditional education and educational drama, contributing to the development of an educational environment that fosters critical thinking and effective communication among students. Furthermore, the conference raises awareness of the importance of creative industries and their role in achieving sustainable development and supporting entrepreneurial projects. The conference represents an important step towards improving the quality of education in Jordan and developing the skills of the new generation.
