Petra Rocks Musical Performance

 Produced and presented by the National Center for Culture and Arts of the King Hussein Foundation in cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality and the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, the musical play "Petra Rocks" was performed under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II from October 27 to November 5, 2009. The play narrates the story of the Arab Nabateans, highlighting their daily lives, distinctive culture, and their scientific advancements, as well as their commitment to peace and social justice. The musical takes the audience on an exciting journey filled with love, bravery, and sacrifice, featuring compelling characters that make this performance an unforgettable adventure.

The accompanying activities and events included the participation of a team of 35 singers, actors, and dancers, along with 12 management and technical crew members. The 80-minute play showcased the challenges faced by the Nabateans in maintaining the prosperity of their city amidst surrounding threats. Through presenting an engaging story that blends history and art, "Petra Rocks" played a significant role in highlighting the rich cultural heritage and magnificent history of the city of Petra.
