Today, at the National Center for Culture and Arts, an event was held in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Ms. Haifa Al-Najjar, featuring the reading of monologues written by young men and women from Gaza. These monologues addressed their personal stories about the war and siege, expressing their harsh and painful experiences as well as their aspirations.
A group of Jordanian artists performed these monologues on the stage of the National Center for Culture and Arts, including Rita Akkroush, Joanna Arida, Nadine Tayseer, Dana Abu Laban, Jude Al-Sweirki, and featuring actress Juliet Awad and actor Muhannad Al-Nawafleh, with oud player Duna Fawakhiri.
#GazaMonologues were produced in 2010 by Ashtar Theatre in Palestine, led by Ms. Iman Aoun, Artistic Director of Ashtar Theatre, and Mr. Edward Muallem, General Manager, along with director Ali Abu Yasin.
