About NCCA

The National Centre for Culture and Arts (NCCA) of King Hussein Foundation (KHF) is a non-profit, non- governmental organization established in 1987.

NCCA is the national centre representing the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People (ASSITEJ) in Jordan Since 2004, and in 2009, it became the representative of the Jordanian Chapter of The International Theater Institute (ITI) – UNESCO. In 2013, NCCA was appointed by UNFPA as the Global Centre of Excellence on Theater Based Techniques (TBT), accredited by ITI-UNESCO.

Our mission is to foster social development, cross-cultural understanding, and creativity by utilizing the performing arts both nationally and internationally.

Renowned for its pioneering efforts in integrating drama into mainstream education and advancing theatre and dance in Jordan, NCCA serves as a national resource and an international model for incorporating performing arts across all educational levels. Our programs aim to promote humanitarian values while fostering cultural enrichment and driving social change.

We offer comprehensive training programs in Dance accredited by the Royal Academy of Dance – UK, and Theatre Arts according to internationally approved curricula from the Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts – Washington and accreditation from the Ministry of Education (MOE). In addition to Theatre Based Techniques (TBT) for adults and Drama in Education to children, youth, artists and educators.

NCCA houses the National Interactive Theatre Troupe (NITT) and MISK Dance Company. NITT’s interactive plays tackle pressing social issues, directly engaging audiences, while MISK comprises skilled dancers trained in classical ballet, contemporary techniques, and traditional Jordanian folk dance.

The centre organizes the annual Amman Contemporary Dance Festival (ACDF) since 2009,and the annual International Arab Youth Congress since 1994. The congress was initiated by Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein in 1980.

NCCA's programs and activities reach approximately 100,000 beneficiaries annually.
